Invitation to Join The Committee

Friends of Queen’s Park is inviting interest to join FoQP Committee. As a Committee Member you would also become a Trustee of the Friends of Queens Park Charity.

We want to expand the Committee with a range of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and skills.

We usually meet on third Tuesday, bi-monthly at 7 pm. Since the closure of Langside Halls we have met at Wellcroft Bowling Club, corner of Queen’s Drive and Balvicar Drive.

Our meetings usually last about 1 ½ hours and discussion mainly focuses on maintenance/ development in the park, fund raising for new initiatives and volunteering in different activities. Although we are keen to attract those with skills in applying for funding, marketing/promoting the organisation and effective use of social media, the main thing is having a keen interest in the Park.

Friends of Queen’s Park is run entirely with the help of volunteers, we receive no public funding – we rely on small grants and donation to cover the cost of our work (e.g. garden tools, new plants for the Park, the costs of other events and activities we run for park users to enjoy).
